How does the Tumble Trimmer work?

The flower buds are placed on the grill. When you place the lid on top of it and turn the crank, the buds start to roll over the grill while they are pressed lightly against te grill. Turning the crank also causes a fine cutting wire underneath the grill to spin rapidly. The distance between the cutting wire and the grill can be adjusted from 0 to 2 mm.

How fast is the Tumble Trimmer?

You can trim up to 20 grams of dry weight in 10 to 20 seconds/15 to 30 turns. The grill can be taken off, so that you can empty it right away onto a drying rack or collection bin.
BACK

How do you know when the buds are fully trimmed?

You can either count the number of turns, or you can use a clock. Determine the optimal time when you start with the trimming job.

BACK

How many people can work on one machine?

This is strongly determined by the type of plant. If most of the buds are large, then four workers can remove the buds from the stalks, while a fifth worker operates the machine. If on the other hand, most of the buds are very small, ten or even more people can work on one machine.
BACK

Are the buds damaged by the machine?

The buds are handled gently by the Tumble Trimmer. They are rolling at less then half the speed with which the crank is turned. Because they are constantly held against the grill while they are rolling, they are finished after just 10 to 15 rounds along the grill. There is also very little loss of resin glands. Scrape the hardened resin after after a after a few days from the machine, and you will see that this amounts to just a few grams per kilogram.

BACK

Is the machine safe to use?

The Tumble Trimmer is absolutely safe. The cutting wire only spins, when the lid is covered. No safety measures are needed.

BACK

What types of plants can be used?

We haven’t yet seen any plants that are not suitable. Both indoor as wel outdoor plants can be used. However, dry or half dry plants are not suitable. Put harvested plants in water, so that they remain fresh. You can also use the machine for small onons radisches and variaous herbs which require leaves and or roots to be removed.
BACK

Does the Tumble Trimmer trim both large and small buds?

Both large and small buds can be trimmed succesfully by the Tumble Trimmer. The spiral gap of the grill is just 6 mm. Buds that are smaller than this may pass through the grill, buth not much remains of them, when they are dried. We advise to just put everything in the machine. Only some very small buds will end up in the trimming waste. It is also advisable to devide the largest buds into smaller buds, as they may take some extra time.

BACK

Do you have to trim the buds manually before or after trimming with the Tumble Trimmer

No. All you have to do is to remove the buds from the plants. The buds are trimmed all around, no hidden stalks or leaves are missed.

BACK

Is the Tumble Trimmer noisy?

The Tumble Trimmer is almost soundless, when the wire spins free from the grill. When it is set to touch te grill, no noise is generated either. It can be used at night, without any problem.
BACK

Will there be an electrical variant?

We are not certain, if we will come up with an electrical variant as well. It will cost considerably though. Using a fully automatic trimmer, you will probably find it more practical to continnually operate it anyway, rather than removing buds while it is running for just 20 seconds.

BACK

What can you best do with the trimming waste?

As with most trimmers, the leaves are cut at high speed, so the trimming waste is largely mulched. Sieving is still possible, but the trimmings are probably most suitable for making oil or cannabutter.

BACK

How often does the Tumble trimmer have to be cleaned?

You can work easily for an hour before the machine has to be cleaned. Use some mineral spirits and tissue paper to clean the grill fast.

BACK

Can the gears of the Tumble Trimmer be broken if something gets stuck?

No, the gearbox of the Tumble Trimmer is equiped with a torque limiting device, that protects the gears agains excessive forces.

BACK

What are the dimensions of the Tumble Trimmer?

The Tumble Trimmer measures 43 cm in diameter, is 35 cm high, and weighs 4.3 kilos.
